So in these god-knows-how-many thousands of words, I’ve blathered on about SRT. I haven’t covered all the aspects of SRT, and I’ve left out many details. There’s a whole bunch of stuff to learn there. An then on top of that, you can learn horizontal caving, cave surveying, cave geomorphology, cave history, capping, bolting, underground climbing, laddering and belaying, expedition caving, speleopolitics, exploration caving, surface trogging, cave navigation (both inside the cave, and to the cave), cave conservation, digging, technical digging… The list goes on, and that’s the joy of caving: there’s just so much to do and learn, and fantastic people to do it with.
