Dip Cave

Probably the most unmissable cave at Wee J, because it has a massive, walk-in entrance just off the main road to Micalong Creek (called the Rubbish Tip entrance, as it was once used as a rubbish tip). Like the rest of the caves on the Wee Jasper Reserves land, you can freely access the cave, but you need to pay a $2pp day access fee.

Dip Cave consists of 5 parallel and interconnected series of cave (imaginatively named Series 1 through 5). Series 1 and 2 can be accessed as a walk in, but Series 3, 4 and 5 require familiarity with vertical techniques to access, and receive fewer visitors. Beyond the pitches, there are many interesting parts of the cave, with plenty of formation (some of it still relatively undamaged), much invertebrate life, and lots of fun squeezes and climbs. Oh, and keep an eye out for Elvis!
