Gong Cave is technically not a cave in its own right. It is actually the Gong Chamber of Dip Cave, as it is an Extension off the end of Series 4 of Dip Cave. As a general rule, cavers consider any underground passageway penetrable by a human being to be a cave (leaving daylight is optional, but generally preferred). All the underground passages that have been physically connected to eachother are part of one single cave. There is a small hole in a flowstone choke that connects Dip Series 4 and Gong Cave (a flowstone choke is a passage that has been or is being filled with flowstone to the point of being impenetrable). No human being is ever going to be able to get their body through it, but cavers have held hands through it, so Gong Cave was demoted to Gong Chamber.
Regardless of the nomenclature, it is a lovely little bit of cave. It starts with a short pitch (vertical expertise required), and you meander through a long narrow rift. Eventually the cave turns back on itself, and after a few squeezes and climbs, you arrive in a big chamber with an abundance of wall and roof formation.
