Punchbowl Cave is a very vertical cave, as almost immediately inside the entrance there’s a 30m pitch. The pitch can be a bit punishing, as you’re smeared against the wall for most of it (unless you go for the sketchy free-hang rigging option). But it’s worth it, because once you get to the bottom, you have free access to a wonderful playground of cave to explore. There’s bats, calcified spiders, a wall of fossils, underground slippery-dips, aragonite, pool crystal, and the infamous Laundry Chute in this extremely varied cave.
